Three first-inning runs helped Germantown, KY to a 6-1 win over Mineral Area, MO at Field two on Friday.

Germantown, KY scored in the first on a steal of home by Maggie Metzger, an RBI double by Jaelyn Sanders, and an RBI triple by Kaitlyn Shultz.

Metzger got a hit in each of her two at bats. She singled in the third and fifth innings.

Sanders had an impressive outing against Mineral Area, MO's lineup. Sanders gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during her five innings of work.

Grace Adkins was solid at the plate for Mineral Area, MO. Adkins went 2-3 and scored one run. She singled in the first and third innings.

Mineral Area, MO's lone run of the ballgame came in the first inning on a steal of home.

Germantown, KY built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth. Lillie Bennett kicked things off with a single, scoring Metzger.
