Gerald Doyle Memorial Park

Gerald Doyle Memorial Park in Pittsfield, Ma. will be the host venue for the 2014 16U softball World Series.

According to Jim Stimpson, 2014 Host Director of the event, the park is named after a former mayor of Pittsfield. It was built in 1997 and has been the home to Pittsfield softball ever since. Today it services not only Pittsfield, but all of Berkshire County.

Doyle Park exemplifies the spirit of Pittsfield and they're love for softball because of the way it was built.

"It was supposed to have lights and everything but then with budget cuts they cut everything," Stimpson said. "So it was built mostly on volunteer work."

Because of the work of those volunteers, Pittsfield will be hosting its second World Series.
