National Babe Ruth League Day Set for June 2

The Alumni Association is proud to announce that the first annual National Babe Ruth League Day will be held on June 2, 2017.

The purpose of Babe Ruth League Day is to promote camaraderie and inspire a new generation of Babe Ruth Leaguers as we come together to celebrate the Babe Ruth League experience.  It’s easy to participate:

  • Do something that will provide you with an opportunity to maintain and foster those lifelong friendships you are establishing and/or have created while participating in Babe Ruth League.
  • Get together with current or past members of your Babe Ruth family to reminisce, network, get updated, get rejuvenated, or to reconnect with the program.
  • Hold a special event such as a picnic or barbeque.  Invite the current and past members of your league, as well as other residents from your community.
    • Plan games and activities for adults and children.
    • Hold an open mic session for anyone who wishes to share their Babe Ruth League stories to impress the new generation of Babe Ruth Leaguers.
    • Share photos and scrapbooks.
    • Honor current/past members and supporters of your program.
  • Wear a special Babe Ruth shirt or hat. (If your Babe Ruth League garb is looking a little shabby, visit the Babe Ruth League website and click on the store to select new merchandise from Babe Ruth League and the Alumni Association to add to your collection.)
  • Change your Facebook profile photo for the day by using a photo of yourself in Babe Ruth League attire.
  • Or just use your imagination to commemorate what the Babe Ruth League program means to you.
  • Be sure to capture your Babe Ruth League Day experience on social media - #baberuthalumni. Tell the world why you love Babe Ruth League on Babe Ruth League’s Facebook page.  (In addition, please also send photos of your Babe Ruth League Day via email to theresa@baberuthleague.org.  We look forward to sharing them in future BRL e-newsletters.)
Many of you can attest to a special love and pride for the Babe Ruth programAnd for plenty of you, involvement with the Babe Ruth League program has probably been amongst the best learning experiences of your life, helping you understand the critical needs of communities and the tangible ways in which children’s lives can be improved from a wholesome baseball or softball experience.

We hope this will be the beginning of a new ritual to encourage our global community to showcase to the world the wonderful tradition known as Babe Ruth League.  A program that has positively changed the lives of millions of children and adults.
