SPORTSCENTER ACROSS AMERICA
TO VISIT CAL RIPKEN REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
ESPN’s flagship news and information program
will embark on an unprecedented enterprise
with SportsCenter Across America,
a 50-states-in-50-days summer tour starting
Sunday, July 17. SportsCenter
will traverse the nation, stopping at a
sporting event in a difference state each
day through September 4.
Each SportsCenter Across America
segment will originate from a mobile SportsCenter
set with an anchor and a live audience at
a sporting event germane to the state. The
daily segments will include event action,
historical notes, factoids and vignettes
about each state’s contribution to the national
sports scene.
As part of this summer tour, the Midwest
Plains Cal Ripken Regional Tournament
in Oakes, North Dakota will host
SportsCenter on Saturday,
July 23.
SportsCenter debuted on September
7, 1979. The 25,000th show aired on August
25, 2002. As many as 88 million people a
month watch SportsCenter.
It remains television’s only nightly, one-hour
sports news program.
Babe Ruth League, Inc. is proud to be part
of the SportsCenter Across America
tour.
