Babe Ruth League 70th Anniversary

70th Logo

From that first seven-inning game in 1951 to seven decades later, Babe Ruth League celebrated its 70th Anniversary this past season.

For 70 years, millions of young athletes have benefitted from participation in Babe Ruth League.  This would not be possible without the many commissioners and volunteers who serve as mentors, set positive examples, and give unselfishly of their time and resources to provide an enjoyable, wholesome, and educational baseball and softball experience.

Our year-long celebration was a reminder about what Babe Ruth League, Inc. is all about.  Like putting on that uniform for the first time; learning the basics of the game, making friends, experiencing camaraderie, learning valuable life lessons, and creating memorable moments that will last a lifetime.

What made it extra special was seeing the beaming smiles across the faces of so many youngsters who took the field for the first time in over a year and a half.  Parents crowded the stands and lined the fences, shouting encouragement.  They were happy to see their children enjoying the games they loved and missed.

It cannot be understated how important it was for kids to get back out on the field in 2021 and participate in the great games of baseball and softball.   The socialization, being with their peers, was so good for our participants, their families, and their fans.  It was not an easy task due to the challenges brought on by the pandemic.  But it has been inspiring to witness the hard work and extra efforts put forth by all of you to make this a reality.

Babe Ruth League, Inc, a program that began with a ten-team league, now serves over 1,000,000 participants.  We have created a legacy that has risen to meet the needs of generations of kids – that teaches us valuable life lessons – that nurtures us and inspires us to be the very best we can be.

From notable athletes to incredible entertainers, philanthropists, business and community leaders, and citizens, Babe Ruth League can proudly say it provides a platform for youth to develop into successful, happy, and productive adults.

Babe Ruth League and the Alumni Association look forward to making sure the next 70 years are just as exciting and rewarding as the past.
