Over the years, ordinary men and women have stepped up to the plate and accomplished extraordinary things together, uniting as friends and neighbors under the Babe Ruth banner, to benefit the children in their community.
Babe Ruth League is honored to wish each of you our best for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
We appreciate the thousands of you who give of your time and resources to provide our kids with an educational and enjoyable experience, as well as the opportunity for a bright future.
The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect over the past year, thinking about what we have accomplished and what we still need to accomplish. The beginning of a new season is the best time to contemplate our old philosophies and new approaches that will help us provide a strong foundation for our kids.
The right approach for the new season is to put forth every effort into growing a young person’s spirit for the game by being positive and supportive. Whether that young person is 5 years old or 18, he or she is still looking to us to help them build their confidence. And as youth sports administrators, we should also look for every opportunity to provide the participants with valuable life lessons, both on and off the field.
Make sure your league chooses managers and coaches that teach values and self-esteem, not a winning at all costs attitude. Players do not need the added stress of believing that winning is the only worthwhile goal. Having fun while learning will produce a more cohesive team that works together during the game and the final score will reflect the benefits of this approach.
It’s been a great year for Babe Ruth League. Our volunteers are just fantastic and are very dedicated in providing our kids with learned character traits for a great future.
As we look to the New Year, please communicate by every avenue possible a league’s mission is to make the game fun for their players and that this mission needs to be carried out at every level.
Thanks again for another great year in Babe Ruth League. Please extend our warmest wishes to your families for a safe, healthy and happy New Year.
