Doug Robinson will be the Host director for the 12u Babe Ruth Softball World Series in August of 2014. Robinson has been associated with Babe Ruth for roughly ten years, and he will be starting his second year as Assistant State Commissioner for Babe Ruth Softball for the state of Florida.

When Robinson is not working on improving the softball program down in Florida he is busy running his electrical contracting firm specializing in energy efficient lighting and light controls for the entire southeast.

Alachua, Florida will be hosting the 12u Softball World Series for the fourth year in a row.  This will be Robinson's second year running the tournament.

"Running the tournament is the easy part, it's the behind the scenes bits and pieces that takes the most effort," Says Robinson. "We want to focus on the atmosphere, what families can do while their teams aren't playing."

Along with the family atmosphere, Robinson wants to focus on improving the commissioner's cup. This tournament is run on single elimination after teams get eliminated from pool play.

"There were 10 teams that played in the Commissioner's cup where they competed for 1^st and 2^nd place," said Robinson. "It is a good way to give the teams a chance to play more games."

Currently a committee has not been put together, Robinson is hoping on having a complete committee within the next couple of weeks and to beginning planning the 2014 12u World Series.
