Wednesday was a rough outing for Marissa Alarcon, but Del Rio, TX still managed to pull out an 8-7 victory over Southern Plains, CO in seven innings at Field three.

Alarcon allowed five in three, but the bullpen gave up two runs and the offense banged out seven to pick up the slack and secure the win for Del Rio, TX.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with seven lead changes.

Del Rio, TX pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. Del Rio, TX went up for good on an RBI single by Giselle Hernandez off Leah Osborn, scoring Christiana Saenz. An RBI single by Giselle Hernandez scored Saenz to give Del Rio, TX the lead for good.

It was a good day at the plate for Del Rio, TX's Saenz. Saenz went 2-3 and scored three runs. She singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Cipriana Tobias got the win for Del Rio, TX. She allowed two runs over four innings. She struck out four, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Osborn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in six innings, walked three and struck out two.

Southern Plains, CO jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Miranda Mitchek, plating Shayla Bogenhagen started the inning off.

Southern Plains, CO scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fourth. In the third, Southern Plains, CO scored on an error, scoring Mitchek.

Del Rio, TX brought home one run in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fourth, Del Rio, TX scored on a passed ball, bringing home Saenz.

Southern Plains, CO got one-run rallies in the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, Southern Plains, CO scored on a steal of home, plating Bogenhagen.

It didn't take long for Del Rio, TX to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the sixth. Del Rio, TX scored on an RBI single by Dariela Quiroz, a passed ball, and an RBI single by Alarcon.

Del Rio, TX scored one run of its own in the seventh.
