William Hollifield

      Bill Hollifield served on the Board of Babe Ruth Baseball from 1966 until 1971 when he resigned due to ill health.  His contributions to the Babe Ruth program in North Carolina and the Southeast at all levels of the program contributed greatly to its progress.

     Bill was a local league president from 1953 until 1960; North Carolina State Director from 1960 until 1966 and during the formative years of the 16-18 Babe Ruth Program served as the South Section Commissioner in 1967 and 1968.

     William "Bill" Hollifield was posthumously inducted into the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame in 1976.
