Planned Giving

Have you ever wondered what your legacy will be? Planned giving helps you find ways to make charitable gifts to the Babe Ruth League Alumni Association now or after your lifetime that will help secure a bright future for the kids that participate in the Babe Ruth program.

Some of the planned giving options to consider are:

  • Bequests - a gift in a will or living trust
  • A gift of a new or existing life insurance policy
  • A beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy
  • A gift of financial accounts
  • A gift of retirement benefits

A big misconception is that planned giving is only for the wealthy. The truth is, even people of modest means can make a difference through planned giving.

Endowments

An endowed gift is one that is held in perpetuity (unless the donor designates a time period). The gift is invested, with a portion of its annual investment return used for purposes specified by the donor. To protect against the erosive effects of inflation, the remaining investment return is added to the principal. Therefore, a donor who gives an endowed gift can be confident it will grow and continue to sustain Babe Ruth League in the years to come.

What will you endow?

Annual Scholarship program
Sponsorship of publications
Sponsor a league or team
Sponsor an existing or new award
Fund coaching education and certification for an individual, team or league
Sponsor a travel fund for a team or league

All endowment funds may be named. Donors may have their names or the name of a loved one or other honoree linked to their fund. A minimum initial commitment of $25,000 is necessary to establish an endowment fund, with annual commitments required until the endowment is sustainable.
